Green Product Certification Of Express Packaging

On June 12, 2020, the notice of the State Post Office on printing and distributing the green packaging specifications for express mail proposed that the delivery enterprises should be encouraged to give priority to the use of green certified packaging products.

 

On October 30, 2020, the General Administration of market supervision and the State Post Office issued a joint announcement on the certification catalogue of green products for express packaging (the first batch) and the certification rules for green products for express packaging, and the green product certification system for express packaging was officially implemented.

 

2021-02-25 the administrative measures for the packaging of express mail (Order No. 1 of the Ministry of transport of the people's Republic of China in 2021) was issued and will come into force on March 12, 2021. The notice states that "the postal administration departments should strengthen cooperation with relevant departments, promote the implementation of green product certification for packaging materials according to law, and gradually improve the industry green certification system. The postal and delivery enterprises are encouraged to purchase and use packaging materials that have passed the green product certification."

 

"Express packaging green products" refers to express packaging products that meet the requirements of environmental protection, are harmless to the ecological environment and human health, have low consumption of resources and energy, and have high quality in the whole life cycle.

 

"Green product certification of express packaging" refers to the voluntary product certification uniformly implemented by the state by a qualified certification agency in accordance with the evaluation requirements and implementation rules of green products of express packaging.

 

The green certified express packaging products mean that they meet the characteristic requirements of resource saving, environment-friendly and consumption friendly. For example, biodegradable raw materials are used, the content of heavy metals and solvent residues of the products are strictly controlled, and there is no irritating smell. They can be reused for many times and reduce the use of adhesive tapes. Take the common paper express packaging boxes as an example. The packaging boxes that pass the green product certification must use recycled paper or recycled plant fiber as raw materials, and strictly control the metal content such as lead and mercury. The product packaging is designed with buckle and zipper, with little or no use of tape packaging, and printed with environmentally friendly water-based ink, and the printing area does not exceed the specified proportion.
